How The Agent In Our Whitening Gel Works

The Agent We Use In Our Whitening Gel Explained.

If you're worried about what's in internet available, dental whitening gel and how it works, YOU SHOULD BE !

I mean would you put unregulated, potentially harmful gels made in distant lands in your mouth that you could swallow into your system?

I know I wouldn't and that is why we at New Bright White Smile have our gels formulated by American chemists, manufactured in FDA compliant factories in the USA.

Most gels contain hydrogen peroxide and a few other added ingredients to improve the product's performance and flavor. Whitening gels gently bleach teeth and don't damage them. For young and old adults, dental whitening is a safe and effective way to treat stained or discolored teeth.

Carbamide Peroxide (the whitening agent we use in our New Bright White Smile kits)

The most important ingredient in dental whitening gels is carbamide peroxide, a common bleaching agent in dental products and the one we use in our kits. When it's applied to teeth, the carbamide peroxide breaks down into hydrogen peroxide and urea. Though the latter is a waste product, the hydrogen peroxide does the bleaching through a reaction with existing stains and discoloration, changing their chemical structure so that they're no longer colored.

The American Dental Association (ADA) states that bleaching with hydrogen peroxide helps remove surface stains and deep discoloration in your teeth.

Carbamide peroxide in its purest form is basically white in color, available in the form of powder or crystal. It is a water soluble ingredient, a chemical to be more precise, and contains about 35 percent of hydrogen peroxide.

Simply put, in every pint of carbamide peroxide there is about one third hydrogen peroxide.

Hydrogen peroxide is the active ingredient of carbamide peroxide, which is also one of the most widely used bleaching agent that helps in removing stains and discolorations from the enamel and dentin of teeth.

The peroxide component contained in the teeth whitening formula breaks down into oxygen and hydrogen, which further helps in removing the pigmented components from your teeth using carbamide peroxide as the bleaching agent. The oxidizing agent is a common component in almost every effective teeth whitening system.

Slow-Acting or Quick-Acting Treatments- Which is best?

Carbamide peroxide is a slow-acting bleach in whitening gels that dentists can supply for you to use at home. Dentists take an impression of your mouth in the first appointment, and at the second appointment you receive whitening trays and whitening gel to apply in the trays regularly at home.

At-home treatments usually contain 10 percent carbamide peroxide, which breaks down into 3.5 percent hydrogen peroxide.

Quick-acting whitening gels that dentists use in-office contain higher concentrations of hydrogen peroxide. Dentists that offer these whitening treatments in their offices use a whitening product containing between 25 and 40 percent hydrogen peroxide. Many people who have in surgery treatments where gels containing high levels of hydrogen peroxide complain of very sensitive teeth.

This resulting pain for the patients caused by dentists taking short cuts, trying to get results TOO fast, we at New Bright White Smile we use 36% Carbamide Peroxide which equates to around only 12% Hydrogen Peroxide.

From personal trial and error we have found this level takes a little longer to achieve the results we all require but significantly reduces the amount of sensitivity if any.

Many people experience sensitive teeth after using a dental whitening treatment, but added ingredients reduce this effect and provide other benefits. Teeth sensitivity doesn't last forever, but it affects 18 to 78 percent of dental patients, according to Dr. Strassler.

These effects are only temporary and nothing to be alarmed or concerned about, they will go, we at New Bright White Smile have had specially formulated by American chemists a Remineralization Gel. I (the owner - S. J. Walton have sensitive teeth and find sensitivity after whitening for a day or so) had this product supplied to us so I could share it with my customers who have sensitive teeth like me.

When you buy from us you know you are buying FDA compliant made in America carbamide peroxide dental grade teeth whitening gel that will safely and effectively change your stained, yellow teeth into a beautiful New Bright White Smile for a fraction of the cost your dentist will charge you for a similar kit.
